Florida’s storm-battered Gulf Coast raced against a Category 5 hurricane Monday as workers sprinted to pick up debris left over from Helene two weeks ago and highways were clogged with people fleeing ahead of the storm.

I cant imagine Helene didnt hit Tampa directly and still caused a lot of damage, this one is going closer cant imagine the damage that it will cause. I live in South Florida and even though Floridians are used to storms is always a big worry when the hurricane season starts.

I BARELY got out of South Florida. The second to last flight out of FLL, I was on standby. Everything from MIA- West Palm; got into BWI an hour ago after 2 hour delay. I looked into DCA, IAD, up to Philly, NOTHING! I’m very grateful I got out!

Prayers for all in Florida! ❤🙏❤ I also hope that this will not affect the Blue Angels air show taking place in Jacksonville on Oct 19 and 20 and that this storm will be completely over by then. Hopefully Orlando's theme parks like Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort will be okay as well
