Summer is watermelon season! But what’s the best way to cut that big melon up? And once you do, what’s the best way to enjoy it?

Sure you can chop it in half and slice it, but how about cutting it into sticks and sprinkling it with sea salt instead? Or whipping up a delicious rum cocktail? You can even serve it with a yummy honey and lime syrup!

This was great. I don't even like watermelon yet after watching this, I'm going out to buy one.

Let me be the 1st to thank you. I had a BIG seedless, and wasn't sure if your technique would work. I did. The secret is cutting WITH the "stripes." I wasn't going for as "gourmet" a presentation as you. I just wanted a way to get fairly nice looking chunks into a large Tupper container without any blood or excess liquid everywhere! Mission accomplished. SO much easier using the curved, serrated grapefruit knife, once I had produced the 1/4s.

I've been cutting sticks by stabbing a pointed knife straight into the centre from the outside. Four stabs at right angles, and I can pull out a pointed stick of water melon, which is very easy for me to eat. It also makes it easy to keep the melon unmessy for another session 😁 . This is ok for my personal consumption, but it would be far too time consuming to use that method to prepare a watermelon for consumption by other people.
