How many people know that the Chinese civil war has not ended?

Every comment section on a video regarding China in some way:

“India the best”

Amazing to see how in the 90s Taiwan had half of China’s gdp despite being a small island

When the Kuomintang fled from the mainland in 1949, it took away hundreds of tons of gold and all the mainland's US dollars and foreign exchange

Tip: more than 40% of Taiwan exports goes to mainland China. And it's still growing.

The starting point of China's Taiwan was higher than that of mainland China. There was another premise: after the defeat of the Kuomintang, China's 2/3 gold and treasure were stolen and carried to Taiwan, which is the 2/3 national wealth of the entire Chinese people. Don't forget this!

It is ironic that the ROC lost their seat in the UN right by the time they actually started democratization

To imagine Taiwan was once half of China’s gdp is just mind blowing . Taiwan’s come a long way .

I'd like to see the same comparison between Beijing and Taipei.

obviously makes sense because Taiwan is limited by its land size and population size. Per capita is more important.

Taiwan was well ahead in life expectancy but China is catching up. Also GDP per capita for Taiwan is very good.

The situation in Taiwan is like this:
1. If peaceful reunion, Taiwan will become a Special Administrative Region like Hong Kong and Macau
2. If mainland sends troops to reunify Taiwan, Taiwan will just become a regular province with no special privileges
3. The chance of Taiwan peaceful independence is 0%
4. USA only sells the most outdated weapons for 2x the prices it sells to its allies and is the only country dare to sell weapon to Taiwan
5. Taiwan is a chess piece played by other countries to bargain with mainland especially the USA
6. Chinese sources say military reunification could happen before 2021 and now majority of mainlanders want military reunion instead of peaceful reunion now because of the recent outrageous actions by the de facto province of Taiwan

PPP per capita is more accurate. Living costs in Taiwan are more expensive.
