How to Convince Your Parents to Let You Follow Your Heart

Your parents only want what is best for you. However, what they think is best for you and what you think is best for you are not always the same. If you understand where they are coming from and are grateful for what they have done for you, it can be difficult to go against their wishes. The best thing you can do in that scenario is to try and execute both what you want and what you're parents want. You will both need to compromise on some parts of what you really want and it may take longer for your goals to be reached but it will make everyone happy at the end which is important.

Your parents want to keep you safe and risk free. Following your dreams is not safe and risk free. They have good intentions but that doesn't always mean you should agree with them.

Here is the thing, you’ll never convince them period. I tried as hard as I could but they still forced me to go to college but they actually told me that I can do those things on the side but there’s no way I will not go to college. So that’s what it’s gonna be, I’m gonna go to college and do my things on the side, I know you don’t realize it now but it’s actually a pretty good deal.
