The tears in my eyes are from the accuracy...and the 3 mins I just spent hand washing my dishes.🤣🤣🤣

Man this the truth. We mostly grew up in homes without them. Finally my parents got a little bread and bought a dish washer…to which my brother and I were advised never to use. It was basically art I guess. Still had the plastic film on the door years later, like it was brand new. I never understood it. When I moved out into my first apartment I had a dishwasher. Took me a minute to muster up the courage to use it, but ever since I never looked back.

Southern Black American here— was straight up called lazy for even CONSIDERING using the dishwasher. I was only allowed to use it to dry dishes… Cut to a Christmas when I was FINALLY allowed to use the unproperly installed dishwasher, it slipped out of it’s place and as I tried to catch it and put it back, the tip of my finger was cut off and there was so much blood. And do you know they had the NERVE to say to me, “That’s why I wash dishes in the sink.” Like, “Umm Ma’am! Yall got a mf from around the way to install this, THAT’S the issue!”… I gots real dishwasher trauma over here 😓 Kev don’t even know how much he was on it lol

So crazy, since a dishwasher uses less water. As a child of a dishwasher-free house, I now use mine all the time.

Jamaican kid here. I learned to use a dishwasher as an adult. It was literally a 2-story drying rack in my house 🙄

My mother told us ours was broken. 19 yrs later we found out it was unplugged and the water hose never attached. It was a dish drying rack for 19 yrs.

I didn’t have a dishwasher growing up. One night I didn’t feel like washing the pots and pans, so I hid them in the oven, intending to get up before my Mom and finish the job. Unfortunately I overslept. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination. 😂 My compensation is now I’m grown and I use my dishwasher guilt free! 😉

Not only were we not allowed to use the dishwasher, but my Mom bought dishwasher pods, and We still couldn't use it. And she didn't use it either. AND the old one was broke they bought a new one and STILL dont use it.

We got a fresh appliance with soap sitting there unused for no reason. And to top it all of she always crying about the damn dishes.

Parents just want to be angry. Its fun for them. I'll hear nothing else.

I learned after college that my grandmother had a dishwasher my entire life. I knew that space as where the grocery bags were. Idk what is being done with the current one, but I know what's not being done with it.
