I’ve made my own like this for years. I buy baking soda in 13.5 lbs. at a local ag store, Palmolive at supply restaurant, and sometimes add a few drops of bleach if I need to really sanitize the dishes, like after we had Covid and this year, flu. Don’t use bleach for printed dishes unless you want the color to fade. I have mostly plain white Corelle and glassware. A few drops of vinegar or ammonia will help clear glasses to come out streak free. Of course, NEVER mix the bleach and ammonia! It makes chlorine gas, fatal if inhaled; a small amount can kill a small child or pet.

Thanks for sharing.. I tried it even with sea salt and it worked.. only tea spoon full is enough, and it's better than detergent. I use pril ultra gel. No need to waste your money on detergent. Just don't use a lot.. that's important 😊

POV or is it IRL? You go to wash dishes only to realize you're out of detergent. What are you going to do?
I'm going to stack the dirty dishes in my sinks. Then two days later because I still have forgot to buy detergent I start stacking my dishes on the counter space next to the sinks. Then I use up all my paper plates and plastic utensils and when that's all gone I go and buy dishwasher detergent like a regular person
