The issue is there will ALWAYS be a 1%... It's called math.

I’m a southeast asian who earns roughly around $20k/year by working in the mid.east. after removing my yearly expenses I would average my net gain of $16 to $17k per annum since everything is mostly provided where I work. that would be very small if I were to stay in the US but in my home country, I’m easily considered above average wage earner

The people playing the victim will see this and say that's just victim blaming.

So basically we live in a country where just about the entire nation is in the 1% with respect to the rest of the planet

Be careful, you can give them truth but you'll never change their perspective because effectively you would remove their crutch

I thought the issue was with the 1% of Americans owning 90% of American wealth... why is the doc expanding it to people worldwide?

Living on $34000 in the states and not having enough for a $400 emergency should pretty clearly illustrate the difference between that guy and Elon, who is millions of times wealthier than him.

In reality, those who earn $34000 are not in the one percent because money doesn't have the purchasing power in America that it would have in say a country like Colombia...I know a nurse in Colombia who earns the equivalent of $650 a month, her rent is around $200.. In Cuba they say people earn the equivalent of $40 a month but the average rent in Cuba is $3-5 a month. .so their argument is nonsense...

The families that own the private banking system technically own 100% of everything with a monetary value.

Bro, I make and live off 30k a year. It sucks but it is what it is. I wish I could make money like these people talking about 20k a week. We don’t all have the same opportunities in life. If someone came into my life offering to help me out I know I could become a millionaire and I would help others do the same. I also know that if someone helps me make it, they can also help someone else make it so that person can go on and return the favor into helping everyone in need so we can all live good and comfortably.

Simply dont use percentage relative to oppressors. How about just using the term, billionaires.

It's really about going after those (mostly in high finance) who print (and or counterfeit) money by the billions for themselves for a living while everyone does honest work.

I have always taught my children that the worst thing is envy. You must not look up to those who are above you with envy but help those who are below you and pull up never pull down as every one of us has somebody above us and somebody below us and if you pulled down you will all end up on the ground.

As a low middle income Mexican I get that. I live my life way happier than those who criticize the 1%, despite me being way poorer than them.
Sure I don't like the concentration of money in some hands but I prefer to study and present ideas to create or enforce better laws than to critize those who has more than me because of envy.
Because yes, 100 years ago radio was luxurious and no one with one complained, today not having 2 tv and smartphones is being poor. Today, those who complain the most against the 1% not only are the one percent but probably have never lacked money to eat.
