The average rent of a 2BHK Flat in Mumbai Suburban (Which is quite sufficient for a nuclear family) will be around ₹40-45k, the same with amenities will be ₹55-60K. Add Education of 2 kids ₹10k per month. Groceries, veggies, meat, milk around 25K per month. 15K investments or insurance premium. 10K for extra expenditure per month. So yes Shwetabh is bang on for his figure of ₹3 Lakh per month in a Tier-1 city like Mumbai to live a good life.

In India, I've noticed that people do not negotiate with a potential employer to get their labour's true worth. Even the salaries people receive (and are okay with) usually stay stagnant for years with some companies not providing annual raises just to adjust for inflation. Folks don't realise that if they are not getting a raise every year, they are actually losing money. It's like taking a pay cut, because your rupee buys less this year than it did the previous year and it will keep losing value. Employees treat their jobs as some sort of favour that the benevolent employers are bestowing on them due to their good nature. They are happy to just be employed and are willing to work for far less than they are actually worth. I realised this when I started dealing with clients from abroad and learnt what they were actually willing to pay for certain jobs. So, even if someone wanted to negotiate a salary that's closer to what their labour is worth, there are scores of others who would gleefully undercut the applicant just so they can be employed. The rampancy of strict hierarchies, toxic politics, nepotism, brown-nosing in our work culture does not help things.

I started watching Shwetabh's videos since 2019 when I was desperately trying my hand at trading, starting businesses, and was losing it all. Was single lifelong then, and I used to watch Mensutra's videos everyday almost religiously because I had a lot of insecurities. Today, in 2022, I have grown my small business from earning 33k per month to 3+ lakh in-hand per month. In retrospect, I am glad that I did not get into relationships and waste my time in my foundational years (I am 28 now) thanks to Shwetabh because now I am well-settled and can be with any girl I want. Shwetabh, if you are reading this, THANK YOU. You are the big brother I always needed, but never had.

I can add 2 things in here
1. How much you own does not make a real difference if you have bad debt ( i.e; fucked up finances)
2. Become such a person that your child does not have to roam around the internet or cities to find a really good Mentor( really underrated shit).

One fundamental thing that wasn't mentioned was if your work/works isn't worthy and lovable, then no matter the income or air or mattress or anything it became impossible to truly live a fulfilled life.
