Struggling with your chipping? Learn the simple 4-shot chipping system that will transform your short game—no matter your lie.

In this golf lesson video, I walk you through a step-by-step chipping technique that I personally use and teach to my students. It’s the exact same short game system I learned from Graeme Walker, coach to Tommy Fleetwood—one of the best chippers in the world.

Whether you’re facing a tight lie, thick rough, or need to pull off a soft landing, this system gives you the tools to strike the ball cleanly, control trajectory, and stop the ball near the pin with confidence.

Here’s what you’ll learn:
00:00 – Why most golfers struggle with chipping
01:16 – Shot 1: Putt with Loft (clean strike, basic chipping technique)
05:13 – Shot 2: Hinge & Hold (add backspin and control)
06:42 – Shot 3: The Fish’s Tail (pop it up softly from tricky lies)
09:13 – Shot 4: The Parachute Shot (high, soft-landing lob)

Perfect for golfers of all levels, these simple golf tips form a chip shot system that builds your short game fundamentals step by step—so you always know what to do, even under pressure.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Danny! The way you progressively layered shot one to shot four is phenomenal. I am going to go out and practice all of these. You simplified everything. I need to get my son who is just taking up the game to watch this as well, he will love the simplicity and be less intimidated with the short game. Thank you so much!

I get a lot of compliments on my short game, even just yesterday, and most of my technique was learned from your series of videos. I listen, learn and then go practice and it pays off. Thanks.

Your previous chipping videos have helped me to enjoy this part of the game the most. This has been a great refresher and the way you broke down the four shots will translate beautifully to my instruction notebook. As always, thank you!

Danny, you have a way making complex golf shots so simple with your instructional methods … and simple swing thoughts build confidence. Great segment on something I have struggled with for years.

I have been watching your videos for about a year. Yesterday I broke 100 for the first time ever. What an inspiration you are, my short play is great and I love the analogy "putting with loft" keep up the great work 👍

Hi Danny, that was an wonderful all in one chipping lesson. It had answer most of my doubt and questions regarding chipping when I only know to put my balls in an different position to produce a different ball flight but never understand such details on how the different chip swings suppose to be. Thank you very much

P/S. I have forwarded your link on this chipping to all my golf buddies.

Your short game vidoes transformed my short game last year and it's carried over to this year. Everything you've explained in this video I now use depending on the lie and it's money! Thank you Danny!

Another awesome video. Breaking chip shots down into four categories is really helpful in understanding that you have to vary the technique slightly to adapt to specific distance and desired rollout. We tend to get focused on hitting many other shots using the same repeatable technique but chip shots require more creativity. I seem to remember some of your previous videos where you have also addressed how to approach different lies also (tight vs. deep rough). As always, the pace and length of your videos is perfect; you get right down to business without a lot of unnecessary discussion. Thanks.

I just went out and tried these shots. I hit the pin so many times and had way more control than ever. Very few duff shots and better control getting the ball to stop, which is difficult on a scrapes/sand green course. I look forward to trying these shots out in-game and seeing my shot gained and stroke numbers improve. Thanks

Don’t know how you do it but your videos always seem to focus on what I am working on. I have been watching golf videos for a long time and have gone from a 28 handicap to a 9. Your videos and approach are so good at keeping it simple. I now watch you exclusively and feel like I could get 3-4 strokes better over the next year or so.

The mental part is my biggest challenge. Staying focused and positive. Maybe that would be a great thing for you to tackle one week?

Thank you so much for being there for all of us.

Way awesome Danny - this video is an echo of what most of my backyard practice centers on. As a shorter hitter, I’m green side more times than not for up and down for par. I’ve had friends say they don’t have time for these, yet I’m finding that these create soft hands which in turn create confident hands to handle those approach shots that land nickel on the green.
