Lightroom Quick Tips - Episode 50: Match Total Exposures

This is the 50th episode of Lightroom Quick Tips where I give a single, quick Lightroom tip.

There is a little known function of Lightroom called, "Match Total Exposures". It's little known because it's buried in the menu system but it can come in very handy if you have multiple shots with some of those shots being over-exposed, others underexposed and hopefully, some exposed properly. In this video, I demonstrate how to use this little known feature of Lightroom.

Thank you very much. A very useful feature of Lightroom... indeed. As mentioned below by someone... perfect for stitched panoramas and should also work great with the myriad of shots, I took of the Moon...with different camera settings.

I find this most useful when I'm stitching together multiple images for a panorama.

Hi Anthony for this great tip. However, it doesn't seem to be working with me. I have applied the match exposure tool on a couple of photos but the exposure slider of the intended photo to be adjusted doesn't seem to change... I am using LR CC 2015.7

I am totally new to Lightroom and I admit that I am struggling at this time, please could you recommend a video class of yours that will get me started. Many thanks.

I never knew that existed ! And as mentioned below that's a great option for Panoramas. Or does LR automatically do this in the Panorama process?

So it's different from copy settings and paste in that it only is for exposure?

Also works great when you forget to turn off bracketing.
