It took me long to be able to DNF a book, it felt wrong but then it’d put me in the worst slump! Being able to just tell myself “alright, this book just isn’t for me” and moving on has been life-changing 😂

It is always so interesting hearing other people's reading experiences! I love hearing about it and seeing how it compares to my own. I have to say I find it so fascinating when I hear people get overwhelmed choosing new books, therefore they love having a book on standby to read next - I am the exact opposite! The mere idea of sitting down and looking through my books to choose a new one is so appealing, I love that process, so much so that sometimes when I am in a middle of a book, I yearn to finish it, so I can go ahead and choose the next one! Similarly, actually choosing a standby book while I am still reading something, makes me read slower - it's almost as if choosing the standby book had made it loose it's novelty appeal, and I almost grow bored with my selection, making me read my original book slower because I don't feel like reaching the end and moving to my standby (because I already grew bored of the standby). Somehow the idea of novelty is what works for me with reading - strange huh?

Love hearing people give tips to read more because I think now more than ever so many more people are reading! Also the #1 tip is always to make reading a priority. Some people watch a bunch of tv or movies (like you mentioned) and yeah we are reading instead.

This was such a great video for tips! I used to never DNF books and it would always just bring me down! One thing that helped me was mixing up larger books with shorter books (novellas). Thanks so much! New subscriber!

I’m a very slow reader. Right now I’m reading Emma by Jane Austen and it’s even slower for me to read because I read it with the elegant accents. Haha! I’d like to read 15 books this year. Great video!

An hour a day is less than I expected you to say. Always carry...Stephen King gave the same advice. Love it.

I absolutely hate to put books away in dnf but i recently accepted the fact that sometimes it's just not worth it. I'm usually really excited to start a new book and sometimes it just don't deliver. Specially a book that is super hyped or a classic. It's so disappointing.
