Why does it feel good to have your back cracked?

Показать описание
Many people are told, or assume that getting your back cracked is putting bones back in place.
This is not true, as there is no research to support this. A correct way of thinking about this is in terms of what's happening within the nervous system. Most likely, touch, pressure, and stretch receptors are being stimulated which release endorphins and serotonin in the body. These endorphins and serotonin make us feel good and can relieve pain.
This response is more likely to occur in those who have restricted joints that aren't moving optimally. The spinal manipulation (as it's technically called) or the spinal adjustment (as it's commonly called) is a great way to free up and mobilize the joint restrictions.
