Ok, we have an appendix. But where's our Table of Contents?

They took mine but had to open my entire belly cause it already burst. The doctor didn’t believe me when i said i felt it pop cause I didn’t look like i was in pain. Trust me i really really was 😅

I had appendicitis and I felt so sick that I was glad that my doctor told me I had to go to the hospital to get surgery; I could barely walk from the pain, I could barely urinate, I couldn’t eat anything solid without immediately vomiting and I had constant diarrhoea.

Got my appendix removed and it’s a lot less worse than the pain appendicitis brings you, It got to the point where the pain was so bad that I started to vomiting. After the surgery the first thing you notice isn’t the incision or how the surgery went, but the feeling of relaxation that washes over you when you can’t feel the pain you felt previously.

Yes! And, apparently, the appendix does in fact act as a storehouse for beneficial bacteria.

It's so cool, to actually see this stuff with your own eyes.

My bf's appendicitis got treated with AB cause it was encapsulated so they couldn't take it out. Couple weeks later, still pain and increasing, turned out there was a 18cm big tumor there! And when he was done with treatment for that he got appendicitis AGAIN. Finally took the damn thing out 💀

There's some interesting research out there which suggests a link between appendectomies and later in life issues with anxiety and depression.

I was 5 years old when my appendix burst it was a blessing i was already at the hospital. I was in the hospital for 1 month and received 1 shot of antibiotics everyday! That was 55 years ago and 7 children later and i remember it like it was yesterday. I remember what i wore to school that day but most of all I'll never forget the pain and how sick i was it was awful and i remember going home after 4 weeks and i passed out and i could not stand completely upright for several days it hurt so much! My mom rarely left my side, i had wonderful parents who are with Jesus in Heaven now and i was so blessed to have Christian parents ❤ God Loves all of us!

My appendectomy went great. However, they left fluid inside me which caused a blood clot and sepsis. That wasn’t fun 😂

I felt mine expand as if someone was blowing up a balloon in my stomach, happened 3 times, third time i felt it pop, it felt like such a relief from the pain i was going through. I was 9, sick in bed for 3 days, then in the the ER for 14 hours before they saw me because i was only complaining about stomach pain so i was low priority..they took a urine sample around 3pm, then around 9pm they asked me for another one because they had no idea where the previous one went, at 1:45am a few nurses frantically rushed up to me and admitted me, and by that time i was so weak i couldn't walk they had to lift me into a wheelchair and hold me in it because i had no strength left in any way, at 6am i was under the knife and someone else's surgery was rescheduled. The doctor did not get all the fluid, after recovering 2 weeks in the hospital, then being home for a week i became so so sick, went back to the hospital and they put me right back into surgery to drain the rest of the toxic fluid, appendix pieces that the previous doctor left in there. It was the same doctor who did my belly button when i was 5 - my belly button herniated after that surgery and it hasn't been too painful these past 22 years so i just live with it. Look up the stats on medical malpractice, it is awful. So many people die unnecessarily...

I had a ruptured appendix treated with AB. The original plan was surgery in the evening that I was admitted to hospital but it was during the first wave of COVID in the UK when they had restricted surgery to keep theatres free.

They felt that if I responded to AB and they could manage my pain then surgery could be avoided. I think I was in hospital for a week plus a couple of follow up scans to check all was OK.

I passed out twice from the pain I was in even whilst surgery was scheduled. I think I now have an understanding of what 10 is whenever someone asks to rate the pain from 0-10. For a couple of months afterward any sort of cramp or pain in that area worried me.

Given the opportunity I’d have my appendix out without hesitation to remove even the slightest chance of having it a second time!

My mom had appendicitis was in the hospital for a week being treated with antibiotics because the surgeon didn’t feel it was necessary to perform a surgery even after the appendix ruptured. She ended up getting an appendectomy a month later

My husband's cancer began in his appendix and spread quickly through his body. There were no signs until stage 4

Laparoscopic appendectomy is good, but seeing open appendectomy more often when I was a student nurse made me in loved with surgery. I pray I'll be a Gastro MD soon.

I strongly agree with having an appendix surgically removed if possible.
Mine ruptured when I was 12 years of age and it was days after rupturing before it was removed surgically.

There was so much poison through my body that I suffered gastro symptoms for over 2 weeks and dropped from 45kgs to 27kgs over this time period..

Warm clockwise castor oil massage/packs over the congested lower right pelvic area (LRQ) area can bring marked relief. Resolving the problem in some cases
