Appendicitis Signs & Symptoms | & Why They Occur

Appendicitis is a condition involving inflammation of the appendix. Appendicitis occurs due to blockage of the appendiceal lumen, which leads to bacterial overgrowth or proliferation within the appendix, ultimately leading to an inflamed and enlarged appendix. As the appendix becomes more and more enlarged and inflamed, it begins to cause a variety of symptoms, which we will discuss in this lesson.

I just got my appendix removed yesterday. Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I have bad anxiety, but I was so relieved when I got it removed. Good luck to all who will need to go through surgery.

JUST HAD SURGERY | Chris here from MudMonkey ATVS. Saturday morning I woke up bloated with what I thought to be trapped gas. I was in alot of pain and quickly turned to YouTube for remedies with hopes of relief to which I had no luck. Sunday morning I woke up still in pain and feeling the same. It hurt all over but hurt most when I applied pressure to my lower right stomach. I decided to go to the emergency room just to be safe. After and exam and a CT scan I did in fact have appendicitis. I had emergency surgery and spent the night in recovering. I’ve been home for a few hours, in a lot of pain which I guess is to be expected. If you have these symptoms just do yourself a favour and go to the hospital. Wishing everyone who reads this good health and don’t worry! You are going to be fine! Just go get checked out

My pain was everywhere in my stomach on day one, so I just thought I had food poisoning. Day 2 was bad I could barely get out of bed and started running a fever and the pain moved from my entire stomach to just above my bladder and right lower stomach. This was 3 weeks ago and it was removed on day 2. Literally my first time ever having surgery and I’m 29. It was not bad at all and I have really bad anxiety, day 2 & 3 you will definitely be sore but by day 4 I was starting to get out and about. So if your reading this and are worried about it don’t stress but you should definitely get checked out! My surgery experience was amazing atleast the staff were. Good luck!

I had my appendix removed yesterday afternoon. I woke up with what felt like really bad gas pain through out my stomach yesterday morning. It would subside and then come on worse than before. I decided to go to the hospital after about 3 hours of this and when the nausea started. I got to the ER and my stomach started feeling a lot better. I almost walked out and thought about taking some Tylenol and sleeping it off 😂. Glad I didn’t.

I got my appendix removed two weeks ago. It is not nearly as bad as they make it seem (the surgery), and in my opinion the IV was the worst part. If you’re going through it, don’t stress, as long as you report it early, recovery will be quick, and you’ll have a cool story to tell. Best of luck to anyone else!

I woke up with an intense migraine, slept a lot, felt unwell and lost my appetite with some nausea. It kind felt like menstruation pain or IBS pain, it was fairly general and came and went. Went to ER around 9pm… as I couldn’t tell where the pain was had to wait to morning to have an ultrasound. Turns out appendicitis. I honestly thought I was being a hypochondriac… I’ve had period pain worse. 2 things that really stood out was being unable to stand up straight, agony with the movement of the car and when middle of abdominal was pressed upon released terrible pain experienced in the right. Honestly wasn’t scary… don’t remember much of it… I was in so much general pain and tired.

This is all true. When mine first stated I just had some minor stomach pain that grew worse and worse. A bit after I when to the ER, the doctor felt my stomach and he found a spot where it hurt the most, that was the right lower side of my stomach. They ran a couple cat scans and tests to make sure that my appendix was inflamed. Soon after I was transported to a larger hospital through ambulance and got my surgery. In my opinion, the pain before surgery is worse than the pain after. I saw a comment saying the IV was the worst, which I can also agree on; although the satisfaction of getting them ripped off is immeasurable! (You also can’t regularly shower for like 4 days which sucks)

I got diagnosed with appendicitis today, and now I’m home without an appendix. If you are experiencing any pain, in the lower right quadrant. go to the ER. I had only pain, no other symptoms and they had me ordered to a hospital to have it surgically removed.
I have anxiety, and I’m posting this to help anyone who shares these concerns. the surgery wasn’t long, doctors are common with the procedure, they took very good care of me. They applauded me for coming when I noticed, please don’t let yourself deal with this pain. At least go to the ER for peace of mind. when I was being diagnosed, the ER took blood and did a CT scan. I hope this helps anyone

Getting the appendix out is not such a big deal. You are asleep and it is over before you know it. But, Don't make the mistake that I did. I felt good enough in the morning to eat the meals the hospital brought me. Then at home I had a light dinner. But then it occurred to me, food is going in, nothing is coming out. It is almost for sure that after an operation on your bowels that you will be constipated. Soon I had the worst acid reflux I had ever experienced. This pain was much worse then the inflamed appendix. It lasted for 2 days and night until finally my body began to react to all the stool softeners I through at it. A very long 2 days. Don't eat!!! You will be sorry.

After panicking for 15 minutes about this unknown terrible pain traveling about in my abdominal area, I suddenly let out some gas. I realized I'm overreacting. 😳

To anyone reading this please do not self diagnose. Appendicitis presents in different ways for different people. Just get checked by a Doctor to be sure, if you find it early then the Likelihood is you will be fine. Appendicitis is really common so caught early enough it’s rare you’ll encounter any complications, just to let you know there is little you can do to reduce the chances of getting appendicitis. Just stay calm and talk to a Doctor and DO NOT self diagnose. On a lighter note appendicitis can often be confused with gastroenteritis (a less serious illness)

I had mine taken out when I was 1 and 1/2 years old :D
don't remember a thing but mine burst they had to suck out all the bacteria with tubes. my mom said they had me on IV for 2 days straight couldn't eat or drink anything after the surgery. That was in 1996 or 1997. I'm almost 27 today and it's a miracle and thank God i'm alive today.

I had an acute appendicitis when I was 16. The pain was agonising; if I had to rate the pain from 1 to 10 it would be a solid 10. It felt like someone was digging a knife in me then pulling it up and down. I was screaming in agony. Luckily for me I went to see a doctor and yes he did say it was fatal but the pain was still in the middle stomach. Let’s just say, a few days of antibiotics worked a treat.

I'm 18 years old, got an acute appendicitis.
Today I got my appendix removed It felt really better than before.
It took less than 1 hour for me, you don't feel anything because you get anesthesia.
After the operation, the doctor told me that I can go home after 2-3 days of treatment.
My advise for those who is having stomach pain or Appendicitis to get treated as soon as possible, before It gets worse.
