Question, why do you need to hide the files after? I already have my Mac set up to show all hidden files

I don't have .DS_Store file in the Installation folder. Is that needed? Or did I do something wrong? Packages file copied to the installation folder without problems. Just a bit curious about .DS_Store.

HELP! Lol. So my HD on my iMac (2308) crashed so I replaced it with a new Seagate. I tried using my MacBook to boot up but no luck so I am trying a USB. Is this correct? I am getting the flashing folder with '?'. Should I be loading the OS using a USB in Recovery mode? Need help. Thanks.
