Thank you so much for this detailed video. For several days I have been stuck with this issue where it always wanted to install OS Sierra on my late 2017 MBP 15. The machine was messed up pretty bad. It wouldn't give me any boot options. Kept saying the physical SSD had errors, wouldn't perform First Aid, wouldn't erase the drive. I had to do both NVRAM and SMC reset. Then I luckily saw your video. I was able to erase and format my SSD. Luckily for me, the first option you mentioned worked this time after resetting NVRAM and SMC. With Option+Command+R I was able to get to the install option of OS Ventura, the highest OS supported on this MBP. After connecting the WiFi, the install of OS Ventura ran without hiccups. My Mac is all set now.

Update people, I’ve had a circle and a line through my screen for almost 5 years, I was told by apple them self that I would have to pay £650 to get it fixed.
