Join me as I dive into the topic of menopausal weight gain and the potential role of medications like Ozempic (Semaglutide) in managing this issue.

Did you know that around 70% of women experience weight gain during menopause, averaging about 1.5 pounds per year? Hormonal changes in estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone can lead to a number of issues - from how fat is distributed over the body, to causing fatigue, mood changes, and affecting one’s appetite.

In this video, I discuss hormonal changes and factors contributing to weight gain, and we'll explore whether drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic can help. I share insights from a study on Semaglutide's impact on weight loss in postmenopausal women with obesity, including the benefits of combining it with hormonal therapy.

While these medications show promise, I also cover the importance of a holistic approach, including proper nutrition and exercise, to preserve muscle mass and overall health during menopause.

How powerful is HRT in combo with a GLP-1. I lost 40lbs in 6 months on 2.5mg tirzepatide never went higher than the initial starting dose. I’m on high dose optimal estradiol progesterone and testosterone and in surgical menopause at age 45. I eat very clean and live a super healthy lifestyle but just couldn’t lose the dreaded meno belly. Now my stomach is washboard flat. I’m one of the biggest GLP success stories according to my doctor. Tirzepatide melted all the bad belly fat off very quickly for me

I had been on HRT for 6mo which help my symptoms except weight gain. I recently started Zepbound and my weight is finally dropping. I’m finally starting to feel well and hopeful!

Excellent. Just wish I’d been told all this when I went through menopause at 39

Sadly, doctors refuse to prescribe hormone therapy to my sister due to "increased risk of breast cancer." Instead of fixing the underlying hormone issue causing her to gain weight, she is going to have to take the Ozempic/Mounjaro route. I am glad that these new medications exist.

Just got back from my Endo and he told me the same thing. Also he said they are noticing in some ppl who gamble and smoke it has reduced the graving. It should be interesting to learn more in the coming years with this drug.

I am 69 years old and on Mounjaro 15 mg. I have lost 76 lbs. but has stopped losing. I'm 5'4" and weigh 150 lbs. The only problem is I still have a lot of weight around my waist and my stomach. I am still in the overweight range. Is it safe for someone like me to take Phentermine or Contrave to help lose the last 20 lbs.? Or would changing to Ozempic help? Enjoy your videos and advice.

Once I stopped HRT after my surgically induced menopause, I instantly started gaining weight. 10-15 lbs in a year. 😢

I lost 106 lbs in 11 months, on HRT now 14 years, but nothing else. I just ate a lot less and joined a gym. when hungry I postponed my meal till I was starvin' Marvin. if I couldn't make it to dinner, I had an apple and a bottle of water. it worked. no drugs needed, just good ole willpower. When covid hit, gym closed, I got lazy. gained 40 lbs back. now taking glumetza and jardiance. but only to fast track my blood sugar downward. in a week I'm seeing good results. 4 lbs down, sugars down by 3 points. (my morning fasting count used to be in the 9s, today 5.9) I hate the jardiance makes me tired and pee all day...and craving salt. I'm already a salt waster and have to take Rx Potassium and use a lot of salt. I will try another week of it. as it is I'm only taking half, one whole 10 mg pill made me dizzy and very high ketones. I dont do well with meds, but Progesterone and estrogel saved my life!
