Me getting excited when I realize that about 25% of today’s video is bloopers 👍🏻❤️👏🏻👊🏻

Amazingly accurate - goes into store, sees special fish, "wow I am stuck on you babe, I have to have you."

I really like this new series here I was taught a few years back to never chase water parameters for captive breed fish stability is the best way

Can you please specify what sort of “botanicals” to use if you’re trying to lower PH?

I breed some blackwater species that will only spawn in a Ph around 4.5ish. But as soon as as the fry are about a week old, I start transitioning the Ph upwards to around 6.8 (my normal well water params). That is a HUGE difference in Ph, but the fish do fine and are well-adjusted to something closer to what a customer's aquarium will be like. I also breed some fish whose eggs will only hatch in a dGh of 22+, and I do the same with them -- after they hatch, I start adjusting their Gh downward to my tap water (dGH 8). People do overthink parameters and chase numbers and this does way more harm than good. You should only really chase numbers if you need to trigger spawns. Otherwise, I totally agree .with you . . .stability is the key.

Two ways I'll intentionally mess with my pH: add crushed coral to substrate, use water from my parents' house (free, easily accessible, etc).

The ways I mess with pH that isn't fully intentional: feed baby brine that aren't extremely well rinsed (i.e. adding drops of saltwater), adding plant fertilizer...

Still haven’t been accused of any type of thinking. So I tend to go with keep it simple stupid. Sponge filters, box filters water changes as needed. Like natural food for the bristle nose when I can grow or buy them lettuce, beens, zucchini you get it store bought Repashy or tofu. Basically stick with what works for me in the past.

I got a question, if my guppies back are curved (2 adult guppies both female and male) with no symptoms is it scoliosis? And do you also know how common tuberculosis is in fish?
