Yoda could've' been the first Dark Jedi Grand Master. But, he chose not to. I find it weird that Dooku didn't understand that all the best warriors always study their enemy completely. So it shouldn't have come as a surprise that Master Yoda knew the ways of the entire Force.

There's like 3 or 4 different explanations to her death, and in another, she actually survives Order 66 and exiles herself to Felucia, where she meets a different death. i mean it makes sense he would have that knowledge. There were the archives that were hidden from jedi unless a master. so it would make sense that there is talk of dark side abilities and whatnot. plus like u mention he’s been alive for 900 years. it’s completely possibly he did dabble in the dark side

Of course Yoda knew the dark side, he managed to control it without it consuming him. At Dagobah he was frequently sitting casually next to the cave which was known to be one of the most powerful places energetically of the dark side.

Neither Yoda Nor Dooku needed the dark side to be greatly powerful in fact in Legends there were sources or more saying Dooku was a unique case in the Jedi Order universally respected he would of been a equal to Yoda as a Jedi Master had he not left to join the order to join its greatest enemies and made sense why Yoda went out of retirment to train a child Dooku out of all the force users in the order only Dooku at a appropriate age had a natural force connection to get Yoda out of retirement to train not even Mace had that kind of connection to the force that was enigmatic even for Yoda to figure too bad Anakin came to the order late otherwise I could see Yoda himself training him too with some assistance from his previous prized pupil until Anakin came along yeah.😊

In SW:LOE, if i remember reading correctly, there's a scene where Yoda reveals to Dooku just how really powerful he was in the Light AND the Dark side of the Force
...and it scared the hell out of Dooku when he saw Yoda demonstration..!!!
i really think that's the REAL reason why in ROTS Palpatine/Sidious was actually terrified of Yoda: because Yoda could choose to use BOTH sides of the Force equally.

No I think Dooku is just ignorant every sentient being that lived long enough has some inner darkness they unleash on others or keep in check. There are indeed Jedi like revanchist that have taken over pragmatic approaches that did lead to the dark side

There’s no such thing as ‘dark side abilities.’ The dark side just skips steps because it’s preoccupied with using the force for selfish purposes. If a Jedi studies long and hard enough, all these abilities will be learned but accompanied by the inner discipline to wield them with more skill and responsibility.
