One thing I find interesting is that almost no item seems to have mana regen or mana as a stat, which I find even more curious considering kuku was one of the first 10 gods to be added. so either they plan to change the items over the course of the year, which probably will happen regardless, or a lot of gods will have to get more mana/-regen on their own it feels like.

90% of this items gonna be gone or changed, but it still fun to watch what they had in mind when creating Smite 2.

I watched his other video about Cern and basically it explains how the str and int scaling on each ability works, especially when both stats work on one ability. And the visual changes on Cern are also highlighted which is interesting

Im so excited for Smite 2, we are starting fresh in a sense and will get me back into the game. Losing most skins suck but having a better engine and running game is so much more worth it.

Couple things that have made me uncertain about these items:
Firstly, I noticed that none of the items have flat penetration, only % penetration. Are they removing/lowering natural protections in order to make burst damage assassins and mages better at killing squishies, or just increasing damage?
Second, none of the items have passive health regen on them, is health regen as a stat just being standardized to character? What is going to be done to reduce effectiveness of poke/minion damage, if solos dont have enough health regen then any damage they take from fighting in minions could very easily lead to a death if they can't heal it easily.
Items are listed as passives with a radius - are they going to be renamed to Aura items to be in line with the first game? I assume Ares' passive is going to need a rework if this is the case.

The thing that instantly made me like Smite was how different it was from LoL. The third person view, the itemization, etc. LoL made me despise MOBAS and Smite changed my views completely. While I am excited for S2, I can't deny how much it bothers me that the changes they are making make it align more with LoL and other MOBAS and brings the elements I don't like about them into the game.

Combat blink opens the way for more plays and outplays. Imagine if you could blink mid animation to make a play just like in LoL, I really hope this is a thing.

Ehhh idk about the active items. I have always hated Dota for the active items system. Pretty sure many other people do as well. Nobody should be able to buy an item that is literally a seperate ability. Why should an item stun, or give you stealth, or heal you to almost full with the press of a button? I like it more when characters have just their kit. It feels overwhelming and obnoxious when characters have too many options. Then it becomes Dota or League of Legends...

polynoms juice play isnt buying it on hunters with multistats its buying it on a int prio character with chort cd like ao or hebo and getting hydras for explosive autos every 4s

Healing is healing.
I would be fine if healing amounts are less than shielding.
However having weak shielding with weak healing is also bad idea.
Regardless, I would love for them to properly handle shielding and healing as an actual form of supporting.
Side note: AoE healing is countered by AoE dmg. It rather annoys me when someone multiples 100 aoe heal by 5 and say they heal 500 hp! tis broken! When in realty thay 100 heal did not help save anyone cause aoe.. or just the fact dmg is so much higher than that 100 hp. i.e. paper stats vrs realstic function.

I am kinda exiceted i am not gonna lie, I quit the game years ago because i was bad, maybe with smite 2 coming i can try again maybe finally learn something, I know no one asked. With all the actives on the ittems and all that staff i wish there would be a better way to communicate or sygnal that these type of active or something like that is up or down, like in league the best expample with enemy ults.

Unless I missed it there's no flat pen at all, wonder if it's just not implemented or if they're actually getting rid of it (and if so will they make changes to base prots or something to compensate)

It seems like they intend to give better stats but no passives/actives or sacrifice stats for be able to do some active/passive hability. It seems to be fun that way. Not all items must have a passive if it gives way more stats.

Reworking the item system like this was a bad idea

Congrats Hi Rez: you have removed one of the strengths of your game and replaced it with....the exact same item boring convuluted item system from every single other MOBA.

You are not competent developers Hi Rez, you shouldn't be doing anything to change your game in a way that places you in direct competition with games like Predecessor because even with an engine update: Pred is a better game and you won't be able to beat it head to head on balance, game feel or essentially anything aside from your fun mythology gimmick
