Physiotherapy Recovery Following Ankle Fracture Surgery. Trimaleolar ankle fracture ORIF

This video shows the rehab journey of this patient at her first and last sessions of physiotherapy. She had a bad trimaleolar fracture and syndesmosis injury to her ankle. She had excellent surgery to fix the fracture with a plate and screws and had her syndesmosis reconstructed.

I had the same surgery and after 3 weeks I have no more pain and I can walk on it

Had tri orif surgery on left ankle and 2 messed up tendons just over 6wks ago. I have hardware and needed a nerve block right after waking up from surgery. Pain was uncomfortable for the next 2-3 days but bearable. I have no pain now except learning to stand on my foot again and I lost a lot of muscle mass. Tendons are tight but exercises do work. I wish everyone a speedy recovery. Everyone is different.

My husband is now on n the same situation ☹️he had surgery in ankle and fibula and tibia they put plates and 18 screws, hopefully he will be recovered soon again hopefully 🙏

I had ORIF surgery 8 months ago. I'm still in therapy and using a cane. I look forward to being able to jump, but that is not happening anytime soon.

Just starting my recovery tomorrow as is my surgery, I have the same exact fracture

6 weeks I don’t think so I had mine done in January 3 I’m still in pain and swollen ankle takes 8-12 weeks to 45 % swollen go down 6 to a year to get better. I had tibia and fibula fracture. Two plates like 9 screws can’t recall.

I had the same procedure last three years ago but didn't get back same as yours. And. Now i wonder why it's aching much lately

5 weeks since surgery for a bit more hardware than that, 3 more weeks in cast, everything sucks, people suck all I wanna do is walk my dog

I had Trimalleolar surgery a little over a week ago😢. I'm still in an air cast and it is still "no weight bearing". I'm VERY independent. I hate that I have to ask for stuff. This sucks. I just want a shower!

I’m in my 6th week and still in my air cast and non weight bearing. I have 3 cuts in my foot and more hardware than that.

I’m 5 wks post op and can hardly wiggle my toes.

I wish my recovery ended up like this... almost the same screw plate setup. Took me 5 months to fully recover and go bsck to work. Can't hop like that or run very well
