How do you solve a quadratic expression like

2x^2 + 5x - 3 = 2x(x + 19/2)

interesting that this could also have been solved as:
(x - 4)(x + 7) = 0

Notice the sign is different, while still multiplying to -28, and adding to +3... Can we infer anything from that?

What if the denominators are different, like for example y^2 and y

wouldn't the least common multiple of 4 be 2? and wouldn't you use GCM instead which would be 4?
