Some things that have helped to control my hairfall include: (1) I stopped wearing hair ties because it causes tension damage. (2) I started massaging my scalp twice a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while leaning forward & holding my head upside down to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Covering my head while moving out to safeguard my hair from dust and pollution. (4) Using mild shampoo again from liittleextra only to wash my hair.

I’m a woman :) I just turned 60. When I finally finished menopause my hair fall was crazy. I had about 6 or 7 PRP treatments and I started using Rogaine foam. This was about 3 years ago. I had lost so much hair on my temple area I was embarrassed. I couldn’t wear my hair straight as it looked so thin. I worked at a doctors office who offered PRP so I took advantage of it. After a few months I could see little hairs sprouting so I went all in. I take Biotin, Saw Palmetto ( slows or stop hair fall) NAC which makes it grow a bit faster and milk thistle to support my liver. I use 5% Rogaine after I wash my hair( every 3rd day) I use a derma roller to ready the scalp then apply. I use another product a minty serum on my scalp on the off nights no roller just massage. My hair is better than in my 20’s ( curling irons and box dye) even the 30’s when I stared to use good products. I started with barley shoulder length thin hair. My hair is still very fine but I have a ton of it now and it shines and is very healthy and has grown at a pretty astounding rate. It’s past my mid back. No regrets. Once you get in a routine it’s easy:) I also don’t use heat on my hair only if I absolutely have to. I air dry and wrap it in a sock bun or a sock on each side. I have the laser helmet also but I have a super small head. My husband thinks I’m crazy but why do my products disappear when it’s just the two of us in the home😂his hair is looking pretty good too!

I started my peri menopause journey in 1999. It lasted for 10 years. What a roller coaster ride it was. The hormonal changes were pretty bad. So many changes to contend with including hair loss. It was horrible. I started using Rogain 5% in 2000 and have continued using it to this day. I also use some supplements such as Biotin. I tried other products thru the years as a substitute for Rogain in the early years of my journey because back then Rogain was very expensive. I found nothing has worked except Minoxidil so I keep using it. I also use it on my eyebrows. Just use a Qtip to apply and it has saved my brows. I really haven’t noticed any dryness in my scalp, but I do use very moisturizing hair products so I guess that helps my scalp too.
Life on the other side of perimenopause is much better except it is much more difficult to keep weight off.

This struggle is real! Aging is not for the weak of heart! 😂🙄 My hair fell out for two years straight once I hit age 55. I’m 58 now and it has finally stopped! I’m not near bald but I definitely don’t have hair as thick as I once had. The problem I had with Rogaine was that my haircolor didn’t stick to my roots while I was using it. So it became a choice of gray hair or more hair! Ha ha Ha! I did choose hair color! Things seem to have evened out now and I’m not losing like I used to. Thank goodness! I’m very interested in the laser experiment! Thanks so much for all you do in the name of beauty, aging, and science!😘🙌

Lovely to see women comfortably talking about things they would avoid. Great content!

Hi Angie. I am just starting to notice a difference using the 2% Rogain twice a day. It has taken a few month but there seems to be more fullness. I thinned out along to part and crown of my head. I find hair loss more of a blow to my femininity than any wrinkle or sun spot so I'm glad this has helped.

My biggest complaint about aging - hair loss. I have heard about the HairMax. Looking forward to your report.

The title is deceiving. I believe you have always been beautiful. I need someone who can help me with my thinning hair.

Whatever you do, DON’T use a Dermaroller! I was making a video about that thinking I would have the same regrowth others have had! Boy was I WRONG!! Now I’m making a video telling women NOT to use a DR for hair loss as it actually caused MORE hair loss as the little quills chopped off my hair!! 💝💝💝💝💝

Hi Angie I am 53 and started using a combination of Nature’s Sunshine HSN supplement, Standard Process collagen with vitamin c supplement, Olaplex salon treatments, and Olaplex at home treatment. What a difference! My hair has never been so thick, long and healthy! I also take a joint guard and hylauronic acid supplement which may be helping as well. Good luck!

As a integrative nutritional advisor, I would highly recommend you do not use Minoxidil as it is an endocrine disrupter. I have had hair loss too due to PCOS in a classic male pattern way. The most usual cause of hair loss in women (and there is a video on my page) is due to the conversion of testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone), so it is important to get this tested. Also check thyroid (optimal TSH is 1.5), ferritin, vitamin D and iodine levels and make sure they are optimal! Iodine and magnesium is best taken, if required, transdermally to avoid toxicity and irritation. It is also important that Cortisol is not out of control. The supplement I have been using to prevent the conversion of testosterone to DHT is Saw Palmetto. I have been doing this for about 2 months now as well as supplementing with nascent iodine (OK as long as you have no thyroid disorder), and making sure my ferritin (which has been low) is optimal too. I have seen good results. I am going to restart my channel shortly, so will be sure to address this with an update. x

SO glad you are not trying to sell us Monat!! So sick of some of the people I watch go on and on about it and try and promote it. Always love your research and reviews, Angie! Thank you! 💕👍

Hi Angie ! Barber of 34 years here ! I’ve been using 5% minoxidil on and off for years now. I don’t really have thinning hair but I do notice it’s fuller when I use it. I would add that it also extends the growth cycle. So, when I want my hair to get longer faster I use it ! Love your videos ❤️

Angie, I am now on month four of 5% Rogaine and can definitely see results. My father has male pattern baldness and sadly, I passed the gene to my son. I am seeing great results and won't quit unless you see even better with the new product. Thanks for being our Guinea pig!

Thank you- I really love your videos! I just have to say as well, that if you are losing hair, I strongly recommend Seeing a hair specialist. If you are losing hair, time is NOT on your side. It’s easier to stop hair loss than to regrow (and less expensive). I am a physician and after 2 dermatologists over 2 years, I finally saw a wonderful hair loss specialist from Northwestern. Game changer. He started me on 82F. It’s been so helpful and much better tolerated for me than any minoxidil products. He said that 82F is currently the best out there for female and male pattern baldness. He also recommended trying other things too, but he said go with 82F over minoxidil. Hope this helps! Also you do need a prescription to get it but...so worth it!

Baldness does not run in my family. At 15 years post-menopause (I'm 65), I am HORRIFIED at my hair-loss. Once thick strands have turned wispy. Alas, hair that once covered my head have relocated to my face in the form of a beard! 😱 I've tried castor oil and Biotin supplements without success. Thank you for informing us about Rogaine; I will try it this week.

5% minixidik does work. I hate how it feels on the scalp when i want to style it, because i dont want to wash it everyday but you kinda have to with this. But this stuff is magic.

Oh Angie, I've been having the absolute worst experience with hair loss. First my thyroid went from hypo to very hyper, caused not only hair loss, but also osteoporosis. I started using minoxidil (I can completely relate to the gross hair feeling) and I've not experienced much re-growth. I've been using the 5% every single day for about a year. I had two scalp biopsies and my hair is stuck in the shedding phase, but my doctor says there is nothing I can do but use the minoxidil. I also have plaque psoriasis on my scalp so I had to use harsh shampoos. I am so excited that you are trying the laser. Can't wait to see if you get results. I have many issues, but I'm heart broken about my hair loss, especially the loss all around my face. I had thick curly hair, took me 45 mins to blow dry. Now it takes me 10 mins and it's stick straight.

Omg Angie I'm 57 and always have had very thick hair. The past year I've noticed my hair getting a lot thinner. I love Nioxin, I worked in a hair salon for 10 years and was always the best. I think I have to start using it again.
