Can you imagine what he says when his girlfriend or wife asks him if he loves her

His parents ask him if he cleaned his room... Parents walk away confused over what clean actually means

Regardless of his beliefs, he's thought about the question far more thoroughly than most believers do themselves

As a Christian, he’s so on point regarding how many Christians think that just by calling themselves Christians, that they are saved

I wish I had the same faith that Jordan has in himself by placing his laptop on that chair arm and not knocking it over with his hand gestures. I know for a fact that is the first thing that would happen to me if I did that.

He is wrestling with God even as he describes wrestling with God.

I've been going to church for about 20 years and none of the priests could ever explain and contextualize the Bible to me in an understandable and acceptable way like this man does. He's a treasure.

I'm in recovery and my recovery program director would say "Your life is a testimony against your words" all the time. My uncle was an addict too and there toward the end, my father would always tell him "I believe nothing you say and everything you do".

This is remarkable. I am a Christian and I have a deep contending relationship with God. I have never heard someone explain exactly what my inner emotions are. This was spot on. Belief in God is not quite the point. Your relationship with him in fact, is.

Sounds like James 2: 14-26 belief is different than practiced belief- even demons believe, but it’s action that proves the allegiance or actual belief in God.

In my faith, I've found that it has not been those who necessarily agreed with me who have helped me grow, but rather, those who have challenged me and asked deep, honest questions from a place of critical curiosity, questions I have had to search our myself. It is in seeking the hard answers to the questions of my critics that I have grown in my own faith.

Mr. Peterson raises a valid point - belief implies moral obligation. I think if most Christians are honest, they're honest about how often we fall short of our own ideals. And it's one thing to acknowledge God's grace, to know that we are forgiven for however many times we fail. But it's another to strive for the best, to desire to follow Jesus' example to the full. Frankly, I don't think we can do that without acknowledging grace; otherwise, our tendency would be to give up completely the first time we fail. Grace motivates us, in that we want to please this great God who is willing to overlook our shortcomings and empower us to succeed.

Mr. Peterson, my hope is that you know the grace of God.

"Do you believe in God" is a fearsome question, and should be. Answering in the affirmative carries weight and responsibility.

I have attended church all my life and never have I been challenged so much on why I believe what I believe. I am praying for this man
