I love how being "populist, " which literally just means doing what the majority of voters want you to do, has been reframed in recent years as something sinister. 🤣🤡

The reporter is literally doing what he is questioning Pierre about. Using populus questions appealing to emotions!

Pierre was great in this interview; however, it's not that complex. He made the so-called journalist defend his statements with evidence. And as usual, they have no evidence just narrative.

After stumbling through attempts at loaded questions, the interviewer finally just gives up and asks a reasonable journalistic question: "Why should voters trust you with their vote?" And after parrying away the nonsense, Mr. Poilievre finally gives a straight answer: "Common sense." WHILE ENJOYING AN APPLE!! 🤣

Notice he also knew when to stop. Once the reporter got to a real question "Why should Canadians trust you?", he made his pitch.

This interview is amazing, and the Apple deserves a lot of credit here. It’s brilliant how he looks so disinterested, but is concentrating on absolutely every word.

The reporter ( and I use the term loosely ) was setting up a strawman fallacy, attempting to define Pierre using weasel words and veritable insults, to force a defensive response. Pierre saw that immediately and dismantled the strawman by insisting gently that the reporter substantiate his comments. Every time the reporter says "Ok" he is relinquishing that particular attack, and foolishly regroups and tries again.
Pierre is obviously very aware of his non-verbal skills and used them brilliantly. Eating passively, moderate tones, gentle questions, and a subtle denial " I never talk about left and right". On the other hand the reporter has no "out" that he is willing to take and persists in his leading questions.
Imagine Justin in a similar situation - bloviating and stamping his little foot in indignation to questions he thinks are beneath him. The reporter has inadvertently shown Pierre in a very flattering light, quite the opposite of what he wanted to do, and for that alone I thank him.

Love to see you covering Canada. This applies to anyone who is maliciously attacking you, without facts or knowledge.

I absolutely agree. By using simple questions to clarify, he turned the interviewer into the interviewee. The faux media person / activist was left scrambling to defend his own use of language which he didn’t fully understand. Left Pierre with an opportunity to sell himself rather than having to defend himself.

Thank You Tim, great video. I love how he is just totally wrecking the journalist. "Give me the page, give me the page."

It's so nice seeing a leader who can actually think in the heat of the moment! Pierre did this same ownage to a CBC reporter last month!

I have been a fan of this man for years. When he announced his intention to run for the office of Prime Minister, I began dreaming of the moment he faces off with Justin Trudeau in the live election debates!

You could have elaborated on the apple. That too was masterful. He was conveying the message, “When you get me onto substantive matters, I may stop taking a snack and take you seriously, but until then, you’re just a temporary interruption to my downtime.” It conveys that the reporter is of far lower status than he is, that he is so totally at ease that he can do this, that he can swat away the questions effortlessly. It’s so “Who are you anyway?”
Beware, though, to carry it off you have to be really cool and collected, and feel what you’re conveying. Any hint of nervousness and you’ll come across as a jerk.

Good job Pierre, Pierra is his own man, he's not a Donald Trump ideologue and doesn't need to be. Pierre is Canada's Conservative Party leader, he thinks for himself and thinks very well. God bless Canada and good patriotic leaders such as Pierre Poilievre. We all need to pray for God's help in these dangerous times, our leaders need our prayers too.

Certainly a great defence against questioners who don’t prepare well enough.

Pierre Poilievre is Canadas new rock star. He's kicking ass and chewing apples, and he's all out of apples
