Thanks for this Gunny. This week I will paint an entire car in my home shop. I have been prepping for this all winter. Wish me luck.

You can try wet sanding in your home projects. That will help you reduce dust levels and get a cleaner result..

Hi Gunny- I do this type of spot blending on my used cars all the time. Thanks to you, I've tried the Colad UV filler. It was only like 20 bucks on eBay or Amazon. And a $12 UV light on eBay does the hardening in 5 seconds. The price "is definitely coming down"!!! I have only used it a couple times but you are right that it does not shrink- it feathers out finely. Not for deep stuff, but is FAST! It does seem like a plastic sort of. I'm going to try that first step of shaving it with a razor blade. (I like shaving bondo or bog with a cheese grater first too.) 1k primer works for me too unless feather edges lift. Thanks for your videos.

So many paint body shops have told me it's impossible to spot repair silver, guess they were talking sh.te 😂

Howdy gunman! I've got a big full size "pickup truck" as we call them in Canada in for work. Pearl black. Been smashing it out with my SRI pro mini gun, and some quality 1:1 epoxy primer, quality Dupont solvent base, and quality 1:1 high solids SPI clear. Customer will be floored. Im redoing some cracked and bad work from another shop years ago.

I do a lot of spot repairs, and I always cover my blend area before doing my base to keep the color out of the blend area. With silver, it's not too bad, but I find that if I have color in my blend area with darker colors, I always get a burnback line when buffing. What do you think? Do you have the same problem?

Superb job on the Merc Gunny, you always make it look so easy doing these small jobs is just a walk in the park for you. I do like the latest UK tech the UV putties are a total game changer as they cure so quickly even with a budget UV lamp it's so much quicker than 2k plus there is zero shrinkage👌
Your wife's Merc is looking good mate it's the same colour as my SLK in the 744 silver, enjoy the rest of your holiday🙏👍John UK

Always cool to see how you solve different projects.
Back in 1990 when I spray painted, DeVilbies were the big thing, fun to see you're a fan too

I used to jump in and paint a car or repairs and loved it, but these days it feels like it is beyond me and I have 2 vehicles that need paint, , not good, hopefully one day I manage to get back in to it and get them done.

Hey I spray boats with awlgrip but I’m planning on moving to the coast and want to work at the shop my uncle works at. They spray glasruit line 55 I think you’ve sprayed that if I remember right.. how do you like it? Do you have videos where I can watch it be used. I like the 100 line I’ve seen that used a lot.

So good buddy. If you were doing a spot repair with a solid colour. Would you just use the colour the same as your clear coat?
