Key Takeaways from Chris Gibson's Skincare Routine for Youthful Skin at 60:
1. Morning Routine: Hydration and Protection
Hydration:

Steaming instead of over-cleansing preserves natural oils and prevents breakouts, especially for acne-prone skin.
Use water-based serums like hyaluronic acid first, followed by oils or creams for maximum absorption.
Key Ingredients:

Vitamin C Serum: Brightens skin tone, fights free radicals, and reduces hyperpigmentation.
Glycolic Acid: Promotes cellular turnover, helping to maintain smooth, radiant skin.
Peptides: Support collagen production and minimize fine lines.
Sun Protection:

Daily sunscreen use prevents UVA/UVB damage, slowing signs of aging and protecting against hyperpigmentation.
2. Evening Routine: Repair and Nourishment
Moisturization:

Apply castor oil to eyelashes and eyebrows to promote growth.
Use slugging techniques with products like squalane to lock in hydration overnight.
Exfoliation:

Incorporate exfoliants like tranexamic acid, azelaic acid, or kojic acid to address dark spots and uneven skin tone.
For sensitive skin, opt for gentler acids like lactic acid.
Body Care:

Retinol Body Lotion: Improves firmness and texture, especially in areas prone to sagging (e.g., elbows and knees).
Regular body exfoliation removes dead skin cells, improving the effectiveness of other treatments.
3. Core Practices for Youthful Skin
Exfoliation:

Regular use of glycolic acid or similar exfoliants enhances skin renewal.
Start exfoliation routines in your late 20s to maintain clear pores and prevent premature aging.
Targeted Treatments:

Affordable discoloration treatments with tranexamic acid provide near-prescription-level results for hyperpigmentation.
Retinol-based products reduce fine lines and promote skin elasticity.
Simplicity and Consistency:

Stick to a simple, effective routine tailored to your skin type.
Consistency with key practices like hydration, exfoliation, and sunscreen ensures long-term results.
4. Universal Tips for All Ages
Understand your skin type to choose the right cleansers and products.
Prioritize ingredients over brand names to find affordable yet effective solutions.
Combine sunscreen with exfoliation for optimal anti-aging benefits.
Conclusion:
Chris Gibson’s routine highlights the importance of tailored, ingredient-focused skincare practices. By combining hydration, exfoliation, sun protection, and targeted treatments, individuals of any age can maintain healthy, youthful skin. Regular care and consistency are the keys to long-term results.

The fact that you had acne and oily skin also helped you stay young looking- I had terrible skin as a skin, now I am 57 and no face wrinkles but I my neck shows my age and I am paying a lot more attention now to my neck

Im 38 and used to look young for my age. Then 2 summers ago i went to an all day rock festival. I did not wear a brimmed hat and only put sunscreen on in the morning before i went. I got so badly burned that one time. It ruined my skin and now i look "my age." Since that happened ive started trying to reverse the damage and just started using tretinoin and a nightly moisturizer with niacinamid and HA. In 2 weeks im starting to see a difference. Good stuff.

Great compilation, thank you! I’m 57 years old and I get compliments on my skin almost every day and it’s totally your fault. 😉I’ve completely changed the way I take care of my skin since following you. So thank you for that as well! Question… I feel like I’ve read that peptides and retinol’s don’t play well together. Do you know anything about this or have any thoughts on it?

Hi Chris. Thanks for your videos!
I also use Castor oil on my lashes and eyebrows but if I wanted to use Castor oil on my face, what step would I add that in and what steps should I remove?

For anyone with rosacea or sensitive skin, be VERY careful with the Alpha 14% Glycolic Acid Serum. If you are using any other actives on a regular basis, it will very likely ruin your skin barrier.

In one of your videos you mentioned you eat an avocado a day well I found that interesting, because one day while at my grandmother's house who was about 80 or so and I was 18 said to me "look at my hands" and they literally looked 25 years old or younger they were beautiful. I wish I asked questions but she did say she rubbed olive oil all over her hands and face, but I do the same thing and my hands look terrible. I do remember seeing her eat avocados many times and I am wondering if that is the trick.
