Acute appendicitis is a common cause for abdominal pain and can sometimes be difficult to diagnose on CT.

The appendix normally resides in the right lower quadrant in patients, but there is huge variability which makes it difficult to confidently identify the structure and make the diagnosis.

In this video, we discuss 4 steps which make it quick and easy to find the appendix and make the diagnosis.

We will go through complications of appendicitis including perforation and abscess formation.

Towards the end, we will discuss mimmicks of acute appendicitis such as epiploic appendagitis and ascending colon diverticulitis.
