Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture, Professor Zach Murphy will present on Appendicitis. We will discuss the pathophysiology, identifying the inflammation of the appendix as a result of obstruction, and its common causes, including fecaliths, lymphoid hyperplasia, and infection. The session will transition to a digital presentation focused on the diagnostic approach, highlighting the clinical presentation, laboratory findings, and imaging techniques such as ultrasound and CT scans. Finally, we will review the management strategies for Appendicitis, emphasizing the role of surgical intervention, specifically appendectomy, and the use of antibiotics. Enjoy the lecture and support us below!

You are too fast. Africans too, watch your series. Please slow down a little bit. Thanks much. Nice one as always.

Excellent video as usual. Just one simple remark I have: I'm not entirely certain, but during our studies of appendicitis, our professor emphasized that it would never develop pneumoperitoneum as a complication, since the appendix is typically obstructed and filled with inflammatory fluid. Could be outdated info. Thanks for your efforts and videos it helps a lot!!

hey! When it comes to the epidemiology, is it not the other way around?? fecalith is more common in adults and lymphoid tissue hyperplasia in children/young adults. I only checked Osmosis and Amboss but that's what they say.
