I've asked over and over and over again. What do they consider affordable housing. 1200 1300 1400 hundred is not affordable for one person

Affordable housing is also tied directly to outrageous property taxes caused by unnecessary government.
That only continue to drive, not only housing costs up, but widen the gap of who can afford to actually own a home.
When property tax bills exceed what mortgages used to be, yet get little more if not less for services it's an issue. You're renting your home from the municipality. That's just wrong.
Fact of the matter is. Home ownership usually results in better safer neighborhoods. Better jobs, education and believe it or not, overall better revenue both in taxes and personal.
High property taxes and subsidized housing causes extremes.
That investors or even mom and pop can't afford to even hang on to their own homes never mind get enough rent to pay for property, insurance and taxes. Plus deal with tenants and all the other BS. That goes with being a landlord. Upkeep etc.
Don't care what you say. Renters are more apt to disrespect property than owners, subsidized renters even more so. Nothing ventured nothing lossed.
Some pilot programs have been run with some success. That are a set up as rent to own hybrid system.
In which subsidies can be held to a minimum and their is incentive for complexes to be more like condos than apartments. With the ultimate goal is self sufficiency as a complex and equity for its tenants.
Just a thought. A helping hand rather than complete reliance.
