I wish Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) had been mentioned here, because sometimes there is a collagen defect that causes hypermobility. That might sound benign on its own, but the collagen defect in EDS can also cause valvular defects, hernias, GERD, aortic aneurysms, joint dislocations, tendon ruptures and ligament tears, and *unrelenting* pain.

As a fellow ME/CFSer I want to send my support to Diana's support team as well! Thank you for being there for her! I know it can be tough to consistently be there for someone with this illness sometimes. Keep hanging in there (that's for her as well)!

I can't wait until Diana has a relatively more normal life and that she can look back at this chapter where she and everyone around her fought so hard and brave. I know it might take a lot of time, but every day that she has conquered is a victory!

Hey, I have long covid too. I'm about 80% back to normal now after 3 years. You'll get there and get to do the things you love again. It's not fair, and it's okay to be bitter. Grieving past you is the hardest, but I promise the new you is also going to be great. Things will be better.

As some one diagnosed with hyper mobility eds thanks for making a video to explain it to other people. But some people think it’s all just good and no bad parts when you have hyper mobility. Like tendons and ligaments, tearing easier when injured. And it’s more than just your tendons and everything that are different it’s your entire bodies collagen make up like in your skin where our skin can stretch further than other people but during stretching it, you can tear it easier than normal skin.

Ok, but they (Sofie) are also super STRONG! Holding the legs up while inverted?? Handstands?? Those things require a ton of conditioning and strength in the core, shoulders, back, etc. Very cool! Amazing talent! (ps we miss you PG and hope you’re well)

I hope Diana recovers quicker than expected. I'm sure that you guys are on top of this stuff, but electrical stimulation (similar to a TENS unit) of muscles can really help with bed sores/pressure ulcers from immobility. It also slows the rate of muscle atrophy. There are a lot of therapies/regimens that can slow the impact of immobility that get overlooked, even if it doesn't address the underlying condition.

Much love, and thank you for all the unexpected scientific epiphanies over the years (e.g. the vortex ring video really helped tie some concepts re: topology + cooper pairs together).

I can’t believe it’s been so long😢 I’m sorry… I wish I can do something… I have an autoimmune disorder and I totally understand the feeling of your body not cooperating and feeling of unending weakness and pain. You guys are the epitome of love, perseverance and hope❤❤❤. Thank you for sharing your journey with us 💫 We all miss her immensely and we are sending big hugs and can’t wait to see Diana back very soon 🥺💐💐🫶
