With all due respect Dr. Lawson, can you please back this up with Scripture verses? There are many verses that state faith proceeding regeneration such as, John 1:12-13, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10. God bless!

Interesting. I agree on the split second point, but I disagree on the order and framing of the issue. Any context in scripture that includes mentions of both belief and salvation always present belief preceding salvation (e.g. John 3:16, Romans 10:9). A Calvinist's perspective on passages such as Ephesians 1, Ephesians 2, Romans 9, etc., is informed by an already adopted systematic theology. Or at least that's always been my experience when talking to Calvinists. Also, most Calvinists are typically reading or listening to other Calvinist theologians alongside their reading of scripture. I've personally never met a Calvinist who became such simply by reading scripture.

The Bible clearly and unmistakably says that FAITH PRECEEDS RECIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT- a person exercises faith, THEN they recieve the Holy Spirit. A person exercises faith, THEN they are born-again. This is what the Bible clearly says....

Notice the Cause and Effect. FAITH comes first, then we recieve the HOLY SPIRIT. The Galatians heard the Gospel message, THEN recieved the Holy Spirit AFTER they exercised faith. It is very clear. There is no getting around that. But Calvinists deny Scriptural authority. Calvinists believe the exact opposite, denying Scriptural authority...

Sadly, Calvinists will not allow Scripture to tell them what is true because Calvinism is the Calvinists authority, not Scripture. Below is another clear Scripture that contradicts Calvinism's bizarre teaching that regeneration preceeds faith.

Notice that FAITH is the conduit by which we have access into this GRACE. We believe [FAITH] in Jesus' death, burial, and ressurection from the dead for the forgiveness of sins first, then we recieve GRACE-the salvation of our souls and eternal life. This contradicts what Calvinists believe. Calvinists believe that we are given GRACE by regeneration of the Holy Spirit before we have FAITH abandoning all Scriptural authority. Below is what the Calvinist believes...

He is LYING! You cannot have regeneration (NEW LIFE IN CHRIST) without faith in Jesus! Heresy!
