3000 miles oil change vs 5000 miles

Filters are out of 2 older vehicles 10+ years, one was well maintained, and one wasn't. It's the owner's refence weather they do 3000, 5000, 7000 miles or so on. I realize the oils have gotten better over the years, but for my peace of mind I will keep doing mine at 3000, mainly BC I do a lot of idle time on my vehicles.

Yea there is no way that is a 2000 mile difference. Iv gone 10, 000 miles between oil changes before and my oil filter NEVER looked like that. Fake video.

Well must be going on with that engine if the filter looks like that at 5000mi.
I change my oil at 5000mi. as most people do. Filter looks just fine. Maybe you work for a dealership. They all recommend 3000mi oil changes.thats how they make their money.

I don’t get all those crazy numbers that dealers / companies be claiming. I talked about this with all my coworkers when i worked at GoodYear and they all said it’s crap and 3k oil change on everything !!

I change my 5.4 3v at 3000mi 6.0 PS 4, 000mi and isx cummins at 10, 000mi. It's better just to know the engine and what it does.

Forsure not a 2k different 5k interval is fine 3k is just dumb and wasteful
