I bought one of these and it dropped my internet speed by 40% . Via connect via the switch . Direct connection to the router using the same cable. Got me back to pretty much 100% .

Switched back to my old setup. Using a old router and a switch and again 100% .

It does not split the signal. It is not a splitter like for example a DSL splitter. It distributes datapackets (frames) from and to devices using the mac adresses of devices in your LAN. So it's a networkdevice working at layer 2 of the OSI model. Please use correct information next time.
