Solve this Exponential Equation: 7^(x+1) + 7^x = 8/343

My method of solving:
First factor 7^x(1+7)=8X(7^x)
8X(7^x)=8/343
7^x=1/343
343=7^3
1/7^3=7^-3
Henceforth the answer is -3

Sir jee again write RHS as 7/343 + 7^0/343
Then 7/7^3 +7^0/7^3
=> 7^-2 + 7^-3
Then equate the powers
X is -3
