How to Use the NEW Alternative Character Appearances in Witcher 3 Next-Gen

Показать описание
A quick guide on how to activate and use the newly added Alternative Appearances for Dandelion and Nilfgaard in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Next-Gen Update (v4.00). With a bonus of how to actually make Geralt wear the armor inspired by the Netflix TV Show.
Table of Contents:
0:00 How to activate Alternative Appearances
0:42 Dandelion Alternative Appearance
0:59 Nilfgaardian Armor Alternative Appearance
The Witcher 3 had sixteen free DLCs released before the launch of the Next-Gen update. Three of these were Alternative Appearances - for Ciri, Yennefer and Triss.
Update 4.0 brought two new free Alternative Appearances - for Dandelion and for the Nilfgaardian armor.
To activate and use an alternative appearance of a character in The Witcher 3, first exit to main screen if you are currently playing the game. Open the main menu of the game, go to Options, then Gameplay. Scroll to the bottom and select which characters you want to appear with their alternative outfits.By default, they are set to OFF.
Here is a preview of Dandelion. If you ask me, this looks like a totally different character now. CD PROJEKT RED changed only the outfit, not the character model. He now wears clothes inspired by the bard Jaskier (Dandelion's original Polish name) from the Netflix TV Show The Witcher. He's also clean shaven.
The more curious situation is with the Nilfgaardian armor appearance. The developers added the ugly black thing from the show as new alternative appearance. It doesn't apply to the old Nilfgaardian armor set, available for purchase from the quartermaster at Crow's Perch. This was one of the sixteen Free DLCs I mentioned earlier.
In case you really liked the black armor from the show, I have good news. You can dress up in the Nilfgaardian armor mentioned earlier, go to the bottom right corner of Velen and visit the House of Respite. Keep in mind that guards may not let you if you wear something else.
In the northern corner of the house, you will find a Nilfgaardian Guardsman Armor Set and a great-looking helmet, which actually goes into the Mask slot.
Now, this armor set does change its appearance depending on how you have the Niflgaardian Alternative Appearance option set up in the main menu! Enjoy!
