My network closet is in my garage, but all of my rooms only have a single ethernet port. I ran 2 cables from the garage to just on the other side of the garage wall and huge improvement on signal, plus no longer concerned about the humidity impacting the router performance.

Hello, thank you for the video. I have a small 1400 sq ft home with 3 levels. I have my Netgear Nighthawk X6 (AC3200) router on my top level. I just setup some security cameras around the home and a couple in my detached garage. I am barely getting a signal out there and it is only 40 ft away. Since all my cameras are on the same network I can't use my Netgear ac1200 range extender due to I can only pair all my cameras to the same 2.4 wifi network. Can you purchase better high-strength antennas? I have been checking, but can't seem to figure this out (not an IT guy, Lol).
