Fix Your Sucky Home Wi-Fi! Why You Should Change Your Wi-Fi Control Channel.

Wi-Fi that randomly cuts out or just operates super slow is both frustrating and annoying. The number one way to fix problems like this is to simply turn your Wi-Fi router off and then back on again but if your Wi-Fi is constantly having problems then you may be dealing with interference from your neighbors Wi-Fi. The good news is there's a simple way to avoid this interference by changing the Control Channel your network is broadcasting on. This video is a tutorial to help you understand why you may want to change your wireless networks Control Channel, show you how to find out what channel(s) your neighbor(s) are using and how to change the channel your router is broadcasting on allowing you to minimize, or completely eliminate, interference from other wireless networks and maximize your Wireless networks performance. Thanks for checking out the video, I hope it helps and you enjoy. :)

Fantastic advice, my neighbour was absolutely throttling my signal, now I've changed channel I'm on -45 on 2.4 and -30 on 5 with a massive boost to download speeds. Cheers!

A very well-structured tutorial. I've been on the internet for 9 years and had no idea that changing the Wi-Fi channel would give you a more stable connection. Now web pages load almost instantly on my phone.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! This is the final piece of info I needed to understand way my BRAND NEW Archer AX73 was not going 25 feet. With your advice, I downloaded the same app, the "***" tab identified the stronger channels (as my neighbour was interfering with my signals), changed the channels for both bands and TA DA, SUCCESS! What a great bit of information.

Thank you again. Your video had me scared when I put in the information and it went out when I changed my channel, but came back with a stronger channel :) . You are so cool for this, thank you so much.

I've learned so much just listening to this video! I downloaded the wifi analyzer and see way more signals in my area. (Not apartments, in a subdivision) My signal is only varying at -56 to -62 with much overlap of 2 other weaker signals on the same channel. I'm so pleased that I have learned so much from you! Going to reset my dual router and switch to another channel.
Having trouble with slow speeds affecting my streaming services. Hopefully, I can work this out before calling for a service tech from my ISP. Thank you so much!

Thanks very much. Clear and precise. The issue I'm having is slow WiFi when I have my Bluetooth earphone connected on my device. Should a channel change improve my connection?

Very eye opening and I appreciate the app recommendation! I have a wireless ISP and the "radio" that sends/receives my internet operates on a frequency in the WiFi spectrum. I keep getting random massive ping spikes and packet loss. I've had my ISP out to my house waaaay too many times to try and find a solution to my problem. But after watching your video, I'm thinking that my "old school mesh network" is interfering.

The ISP radio is within range of 3 separate routers. One of which is less than 10ft away from the radio. I have a strong suspicion that I'm getting overlap into the same frequency that my ISP radio is on and that's what's causing my seemingly random, intermittent connection issues! Will definitely be doing some investigation with that app!

I have a Asus router now and it has the same gui router page yours does. I was using a Dlink dual band I've had for probably 6 years but some new neighbors moved in next door and suddenly my wifi was dropping out. I used one of the wifi analyzers like you showed and everytime I picked a clear channel the routers next door would jump on it too and I'm down again. I decided to buy a newer router and got a Asus similar to yours. It seems to automatically pick up the best channels and I haven't been knocked offline since but I did have some problems when I tried to set it up to use the same ip range the DLink did and everything was offline till I fully reset it. Been working good since then except getting all my gear to reset to the new addresses it uses. Got most of them up now so I'll figure out the last wifi camera later as it isn't super critical. Good information just the same as most folks would never go deeper than plugging everything in and turning it on figuring everything should just work.
