I remember when my period came unexpectedly when I went to my boyfriend's house ...it stained his bed sheet, my boyfriend as at then humiliated me, embarrassed me, made a big deal out of it... I had to wash of that stain at midnight ... I left in the morning never to return to him ever again . Each time he calls to ask me to come back to him, I reminded about that incidence.... his excuse was ..."I can't stand the sight of blood, I am sorry, I know I was my reply always .."in my state when I needed protection, covering, understanding, protection, you never stood by me ...that means in a worse situation like illness or something you won't be there "....

When I was 16 this happened to me at a friend of the family's house. There were other people there and he saw it when I stood up before anyone else did. He was so kind, stood behind me and said he wanted to show me something in the backroom. When got there he told me what happened, gave me sweatpants and told me not to worry he had laid a magazine in the chair so nobody saw. I should mention he was a much older gay male. I was so grateful for his compassion, understanding and how he came to aid.

This triggered a memory of me back in college sitting in class during a lecture and all of a sudden the flood gates opened. I knew I couldn't stand up to quietly excuse myself as I knew blood was all over my backside and on the chair. My only option was to wait for class to end, let all the other students clear out and ask for help from my teacher (who thankfully was female). I was so embarrassed and an emotional mess but I will never forget her kindness lending me her sweater to wrap around my waist and running to the restroom to gather paper towels to help clean up. It happened so fast and it was such a mess. I don't know what I would have done if she wasn't there to help me.

I clicked on this thinking it would be funny. I'm watching it and almost in tears. This warrior of a woman is fighting for all women in ways louder than life.

Shame on the women who called her out instead of helping her out... This world is so cruel

I love this lady Senator Gloria. I am watching from Europe and I believe she is a freedom fighter. Thank you for speaking out for girls that go through a lot.

The lady in orange has some level of insight and dignity, highlighting the plight of thousands of girls who lack access to sanitary products.

No one came to this woman’s rescue?! This is an unspoken rule of women. You help a sister out when this happens!

I love the concluding part where Mr speaker politely asked her to leave the chamber not because she has flouted the order of the house but because she was stained and needed to change. This is pure wisdom ❤

Wow! I’m not sure where to begin….. As a woman, who suffers with endometriosis and fibroids, I have experienced many occasions of bleeding heavily at work and other functions, with no warnings. Yes, I carried a pad, tampon, and a diaper in my purse- didn’t always help! But some of my experiences have left me running through them all in minutes. And I state that with grace because I choose not to be too graphic in explaining my personal experiences… I hope and pray that every girl never be ashamed for having a cycle, and not feel less than in any kind of way. May healing and strength be given to us all. In Jesus Name❤️🙏🏽

It's happened to many, many of us. I have my own embarrassing story, I've cringed for 40 years each time I think of it. I feel for her that not one single person came to her rescue with a jacket or anything. Shame on those ladies present!! I would NEVER wear white while on my period because THIS CAN HAPPEN!!!. Also: Sometimes when you're boiling hot and sweaty you don't always know your period has arrived. Men will never understand all this mess. JUST BE KIND FOLKS, help someone out if they're in need.

Mr. Speaker is full of natural wisdom to sensitive issues.
I love his spirit of leadership and to Senator Gloria, she is courageous to deal with challenges of natural phenomenon.

First of all, I am appalled by this lady Tabitha. If indeed Tabitha was interested in helping or was concerned about Senator Gloria's dress code, she would have pulled her aside privately and talked to her not announcing it in public. Women we are each other ‘s enemies at all times.
