This video explains the digestion process of dietary lipids. Dietary lipids are digested in the stomach first and later in the small intestine. Various lipid digestive enzymes digest dietary lipids, lipid digestive enzymes are lingual lipase, gastric lipase, pancreatic lipase along with colipase, cholesterol esterase, phospholipase A2. All these lipid digestive enzymes act on dietary lipids within the micelles. Micelles are formed by emulsification process in the presence of bile acids and bile salts and contraction of the intestine. Once lipids are digested into their simple form, they will undergo simple diffusion into enterocytes.
