Basting your pan-seared steak helps produce a beautiful crust and adds incredible savory flavor to your steak.

How to Butter Baste a Steak
1. After cooking the steaks on one side, add cold butter, 2-3 smashed garlic cloves, a sprig of thyme, and a sprig of rosemary to the pan.
2. Flip steaks, tilt the pan towards you at a 45° angle, and continually baste the steaks for about 30 seconds to one minute.
3. Finish cooking steaks to your desired doneness.
