if it wasn't for AMD at this point intel would be charging $5000 for a mediocre cpu

The CPUs themselves are one thing, but the platform is another thing: The LGA motherboards are stupidly overpriced, compared to the AMD PGA ones, yet the AMD CPUs cost a bit much on the lower end. This kind of balances out the 2 manufacturers overall platform cost. A good day/night to you, Matt. Enjoyed the video and we'll see you on the next one!

At 3:22, you mention the 12th generation of Intel CPUs are manufactured on a 7nm process. They're actually made with the Intel 7 process, which is 10nm.

great video, i'm still in the research phase of building my first PC as I need quite a powerful machine for the cg/vfx stuff I do. Saw a video saying amd is best but I just wanted to know what really is the difference between intel and amd because intel is more of a well known household name

As a AMD man!...its good to see these juggernauts trading blows for us consumers!...although that i5 is impressive I'll still go AMD because of the AM4 platform all of the CPU's from that platform can give me an 60+ gaming experience with either my GTX950SC or my gtx1660ti hell my gtx750ti gives me over 50fps with my sons athlon200ge cpu so I can go first gen or 3rd gen and still game competitively with any of the am4 cpu's so AMD it is and with the 3d variants I just don't see the point in retooling my case for intel with so much variety with the system i have now!...

A good processor is a cool processor designed for both PC users and the gaming industry.

AMD did not lose the lawsuit, they settled it.
They would have almost certainly won it, but that would take more time and money than just settling it. There is no official definiton of what a CPU core is - so AMD can easily claim those are all real cores. And if they DID lose it, then someone else can sue Intel or AMD's modern chips for not being full CPU cores either since they share lots of resources from core to core as well.

Correction: Intel is at 10nm

Intel 7 process is the name that Intel gives their 10nm chips

Great video like always. But can you put the power consumption and temperature for these CPUs?

so INTEL is slightly better for the overall more expensive components, but AMD is better like more budget

excellent breakdown, at this point you can't go wrong with either, the bane of 12th gen is the higher priced boards meanwhile am4 platform is basically at its end that said there's enough performance on the table for any task today

Do the igpu in Intel and AMD help improve rendering in programs like lumion autocad and stuff like that?

Great video! What do you use to test your max fps? I have steam overlay but it doesn't tell me my max so I have to try to pay attention to the fps as I'm playing which is hard

You missed the point completely....one semester win by Intel doesn't make them the enthusiasts price, culture and motherboards....pretty shallow review !

10 years ago I remember i5's going for $400 and i7's going for $600 and beyond and at the time, I was still very young and couldn't afford that.
And then a few years back I got around to buying brand new PC parts for the first time, building my first all new PC. I couldn't believe that the R5 2600 I got, I paid $170 for brand new knowing it was an i5 equivalent. And now looking at Intel's side, I see that i5's go for $200 and lower and i7's for $400 and lower.
Thank god for AMD.
