I asked five of my Arab friends (from Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Yemen and Iraq) to take a DNA test. Are in they in for a shock? Or will the results be as expected? Enjoy!

I, as and Irish soldier, served with the UN in south Lebanon and there was a farmer there who was both physically and very similar in looks to my Dad who was also a farmer. I showed him and his family a picture of my Dad standing beside a tractor and I could understand from his response he was somewhat emotional but his son translated as best he could. His father's brother had died when he was nine years of age and his Dad had always believed he had just gone somewhere else in the world. Perhaps it was true and more than an notion created by a grieving child but everytime I met him during those months his arms would go around me and greet me like a son.

I think it would be good for everyone to do DNA testing. Maybe we could stop the hate. I did mine 5 or 6 years ago, and I believe it change my perspective on various places.

Arabs probably have the most interesting DNA results since they are in the middle of 3 continents: Asia, Africa and Europe
