Why Does Toothpaste Make Everything Taste Bad?

The funny part is, the only reason we have foaming agents in the toothpaste is because, if it doesn't foam, we don't think it's working.  And the only reason we have sweeteners like mint in the toothpaste is because the foaming agents make things taste terrible.  So when it comes down to it, toothpaste makes things taste bad because consumers insist on stuff they don't need in order to satisfy their biases.

I've never understood why some people brush their teeth *before* eating.  To me it seems better to brush after breakfast.

Ok, a serious question. Who brushes teeth before having breakfast? I mean, seriously. It's not only pointless (you'll brush them after eating anyway), but also stupid (you'll brush them before going to work anyway).

The awkward thing is you shouldn't really brush your teeth right after the juice either, the acid starts to break down the enamel, immediate brushing removes this material, thinning your enamel.

There is another solution I thought you were going to touch on, if you swash a hot beverage (anything from water to coffee or tea) around your mouth after brushing your teeth you can drink orange juice without any problems. :)

I never understood why some people brush their theeth BEFORE eating. It makes no sense to clean stuff before it gets dirty! Why do people do this? Do these people also wipe their butts BEFORE they take a dump and then walk around with smelly butts?

I have a question unrelated to this video... Why is water blue? And, what causes the variations in color of different water bodies (i.e. different shades of blues, greens, turquoise, clear, and sometimes it even looks almost black or brown, ) I assume it has to do with the depth, the chemical composition, the turbidity, and the organic matter within the water as well as reflected/absorbed light. I'd love to see a video explaining this! Thanks SciShow!
