Hook: Long-shank Atlantic salmon hook, size 1/0 or 3
Thread: Red 6/0
Tip: Two turns of narrow oval silver tinsel
Body: Rear ¼ orange floss, remainder red seal fur substitute
Rib: Flat silver tinsel and narrow oval silver tinsel
Body hackle: Yellow schlappen or webby saddle hackle
Wing: Bronze mallard, folded and low
Throat: Pheasant rump dyed black or black webby saddle hackle

It's probably logistically impossible, but it would be interesting to gather a few more of the YouTube fly-tying rockstars to make a ZOOM-style multi-window tie-off. Just as the two of you learn from each other, imagine the conversations and debates that would arise if Charlie Craven, Gunnar Brammer, Barry Ord Clarke, Gordon van der Spuy, and Kelly Galloup were all on the screen together - or any of many others with great tying channels. Davie would have to be the judge/moderator - he seems to be the gold standard that everyone else aspires to. Thanks for another informative and entertaining tie.

I would never tie or fish one of these, but that’s because I use spinning and casting gear for all my salmon and steelhead fishing here in Oregon. But those are gorgeous and that was fun to watch

The wings are hard to do McPhail holds them together and ties them in but he is the master of materials the rest of us are mortals .
