I had that issue with Amazon
Boughy 2 new 140mm Chromax fans.
One was new the other wasnt and missed everything buy the fan and had it holes threaded
On Chromax fans if u dont have the extention cable u wont be able to use it
So they gave me a used with missing part unusable fan. When I bought NEW!!

Best Buy also apparently has a very hard yes policy on open box type products as well like Amazon. Not as big of a selection, but just an fyi.

This is the problem with corrupt US capitalism - non-existent consumer protection laws.
It makes me immensely happy to see that newegg's share price has crashed since this incident. Hopefully they are crippled for years by this.

You're right, the lady on Newegg is very attractive and well spoken. Honestly, she's probably too good and will find a better acting job later soon. She may give them a temporary boost in views, but most of us who are into tech, don't want to be sold something. We want to hear the opinion/review of someone with experience/knowledge, who is able to do more, than just read highlights from a spec sheet. Some of the best and most informative reviews that I've seen have come from people who only show their hands!

Total BS from companies as always. Had a mobo come in! DHL guy told me to open package in front of him as he knows i buy lots of electronics, and package seemed really bad (who puts a mobo in a thin carton envelope anyway). Motherboard was crashed bent, broken pins IO port flattened etc. DHL took the blame and immediately took package back and placed an order on my behalf on amazon.
Amazon rejected replacement, as package was opened. Total BS!
Hats off to DHL though locally, they bought me an exact same and delivered. 🤘🏼
