Birth Story at 36 Weeks Pregnant with JK and Charlie | Channel Mum

Imagine thinking you've got another month or so to prepare for baby, and then having your waters break! That's what happened to Charlie (from JK and Charlie) when she gave birth to baby Luna.

She was just 36 weeks pregnant when she found herself abandoning her home water birth plan and heading for the hospital. It's safe to say that births very rarely go to plan, but this lovely labour and birth story just goes to show that it doesn't really matter how your birth happens, all that matters is that your little one gets here safely.

Glad everything was okay in the end! This could have been my story, I had my daughter at 36+1 with forceps and episiotomy. My waters also spontaneously ruptured 2 days previously. We both had to have IV antibiotics. Now my daughter is almost 3 and doing brilliantly! Time goes so quickly! Take care xx

Oh, Charlie! I completely felt your pain (quite literally..) when you spoke about not getting her 'round the corner'. I pushed for a couple of hours with no sign of Delilah and therefore had to have an episiotomy and ventouse. I also relate to you being hard on yourself because 15 months on I still get annoyed, thinking it was my fault she got stuck. Anyway, congratulations to the both of you :)

It must have been such a surprise when your waters broke. My little boy was born at 37 weeks exactly, third baby and I hadn't even packed a hospital bag!

I'm 36 weeks today. My health visitor thinks I'll have her by the end of next week. She said she would be very surprised if she didn't arrive by the end of next week. She's due Christmas day X
