You young guys are right on target to be what others will need when you are old. I will be 89 next month and I live what you are talking about. I have young friends who help with technology so that I can ferret out info that they need to be healthy . I also have others who are available for other kinds of help which makes me feel safe and be safe so that I can dance and play tennis and spends lots of time having a good time with lots of people. Etc. etc.

Thank you for talking about this topic. I think that major life stresses are factors that are forgotten or disregarded when looking at health. Whether or not the home is dysfunctional or incompatible with the person could make a surprising difference.

Dr. Rangan, great podcast.. however i keep listening to other podcasts as well, now, the thing is with so many you tube channels telling soo many different things, example same say meat diet, others say veg diet, some say only weight training, others say dont do weight training, in this colossal array of opinions, it is becoming increasingly difficult to determine what and who someone whould listen to., this episode of yours was more logical than what i have heard before on other channels, keep up the good work - regards, Paritosh Sharma from North Macedonia

WOW - at times this video created more questions, at other times just confusion but continuing to watch did help me make my mind up and decided how to progress, I generally eat healthy, extremely low on processed food and even lower on ultra processed food.
What I'm taking from this video is that I need to eat more protein - perhaps bigger variety of it. and learn something new - need to think on this one.
Something that often emerges in your videos is to let go of guilt and letting go of the past to have a better future...
Thank you both Dr. Rangan and Dr. Tommy for 2 hours of my day well spent.
Ps: I did get up to do some gardening half way through 😂😂😂😂😂😂

1. eat a balance of foods
2. challenge the brain: languages etc, then rest the brain (just like you would a muscle)
3. sleep well
4. movement with coordination: dancing, tai chi etc
5. socialise

when you retire, replace the cognitive challenges from work

listning to ppl talkign about sleep one hoeur before im supposed to fall asleep and around the time im supposed to go lay down/calm down before i fall asleep. funny :D im make it in good time tonight :D

but on a main point: very long intresting deepdives in neurosciense diet and exersise and the coalition between the three. thanks!!! i loved it and think i learned a little more neurosciense and im looking forward to the danseclasses in the fall for more then one reason now :D going to think "time to make my brain healthier and have fun at the same time!" now. thank you :D

People who eat excess amount of protein age QUICKER and lack energy. Just compare people in their 40ties and 50ties of different lifestyles they followed for at least 20 years. This will clear any doubts about low/high protein being good for human optimal health.

The casual cruelty of researchers toward animal subjects is frankly disturbing. This gent won't even refer to them as individuals but as "models." So disturbing. SCIENCE NEEDS TO STOP ABUSING ANIMALS!
