FreeCAD BIM Tutorial for Beginners | Create a Garage Building

This is a FreeCAD BIM workbench tutorial for complete beginners. Viewers learn how to create architectural 3D model of a garage. This model includes floor, exterior walls, interior walls, roof, windows, doors, driveway and a lawn. Several modeling techniques are demonstrated, including using draft elements as base objects or sketch as a base object. Viewers will also learn how to create project structure according to the IFC schema, and assign correct IFC classes to all model parts. Changing object color is also demonstrated.
After completing this extensive tutorial, viewers will be able to use FreeCAD BIM workbench. All basic concepts of BIM modeling in FreeCAD are covered.

Very helpful tutorial!! And you can change the Overhang of the Roof on the Front and Back if you change the Angle to 90 Degrees.

How good is freecad for plumbing? I have been using sketchup for that for a long time, but I like FreeCad, and I want to get into it. On the other hand, I also have knowledge of python but not applied to the creation of applications, but I like FreeCad so much that I might even try to collaborate.

Hi, even though I have Snap to Working Plane selected, the little orange dot does not appear for me (like @14:02) and when i click to start the line, it has attached it to nothing in a random place in 3D space. I also had the slab turned off like you had. Only if Im looking vertically down at the plane will it attach to ground level but its difficult to see from that angle. Then when I try to move the line, it again moves into a completely random direction in 3D space. Please advise. Thanks

Could you please make a video on creating custom windows and doors using part workbench and then converting it to BIM windows/doors? I have tried but I am not sure if I am doing it right to be able to use material properties and generate bill of quantities.

Do you know if FreeCad has any support to plan electrical wiring?
