In this tutorial for FreeCAD BIM beginners creation of 2D floor plan drawing form 3D BIM model is demonstrated.
Viewers will learn how to create 2D representation of the 3D model, how to create a page and place the drawing on the page. The tutorial also explains how to create dimensions and other annotation like text. Creation of hatch patterns is also demonstrated in depth. As part of fine tuning the plan view, creation of BIM material is demonstrated. At the end, the sheet (or page as it is called in FreeCAD) is exported to PDF format.
